Colectivo Orgullo San Miguel de Allende (COSMA)
Since 2012, the LGBTQ+ community in San Miguel de Allende has built safe spaces and taken collective action to strengthen the exercise of their rights. During that year Colectivo 41 A.C.–a community center with educational and recreational activities–came to life. Unfortunately, this group disassembled in 2020.
Later, CASA A.C. launched its program Colores to support sexually diverse youth. In early 2024, Colores was a part of the CASA A.C.’s Community Health Program (Programa de Salud Comunitaria de CASA A.C.), focusing on promoting visibility, sexual health and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Throughout the year we organised various activities destined to create spaces of learning, social development and celebration.
Towards the end of 2024, we made the decision to become independent—this is how Colectivo Orgullo San Miguel de Allende (COSMA) was born. Our independence has strengthened our autonomy and established us as a dissident, autonomous, and non-partisan group grounded in gender perspective, intersectionality, and a human rights-based approach.
We are excited about the challenges ahead and committed to building new strategic alliances to expand the impact of our work.

We promote gender equity and social justice through LGBTQ+ activism. With an intersectional perspective, we take action in San Miguel de Allende to create political, social, and community impact—always centering the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride March
The streets of San Miguel de Allende get full of color and vitality in an event that gathers hundreds of participants.
Human rights promotion
Workshops, conferences, radio programs and campaigns focused on the LGBTQ+ population.
Art and creativity
Activities to promote connection, memory and pride within the community.
Meeting spaces
We nurture virtual and in-person spaces where the LGBTQ+ community can gather freely, bond and generate proposals.
Community alliances
We search to cooperate with institutions, organisations and other entities that share our passion for social justice and the defense of human rights.
Our Team
COSMA is built by a team of volunteers who collaborate in organising educational, cultural and health-related activities. We believe there is strength in cooperation and shared leadership. Those of us who lead COSMA are people originally from and currently living in San Miguel de Allende—professionals in various fields who enrich and promote diversity within the community.
